Michael Jordan (also known by his initials MJ), born February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, is an American basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) professional basketball league from 1984 to 2003, as well as in the international league with Team USA. According to the BBC and the NBA, "Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.

Michael Jordan's individual awards and honours include five MVP awards, ten first-team all-league selections, nine first-team all-defensive selections, fourteen All-Star appearances, three All-Star Game trophies, ten scoring titles, three steals, six NBA Finals trophies and the league's best defender in 1988.
